Job Description

The Marketing Associate will play a crucial role in supporting the marketing and communication functions for Lighthouse Festival. The candidate will report to and work with the Marketing and Communications Manager to execute all marketing and communications initiatives and help raise the profile of the theatres. This permanent full-time position is based out of Port Dover Ontario, with occasional travel to our theatres in Simcoe and Port Colborne expected. 

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

Social Media/Digital Marketing 

  • Create compelling stories to share and engage audiences
  • Execute content across all social media platforms such as TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, Threads…
  • Work with graphic designer to create social media posts
  • Utilize Loomly to set up social media content
  • Execute all email blasts including monthly newsletters, performance reminders, promotions
  • Provide content for website updates

Outreach/Events 

  • Reach out to groups, both professional, corporate and local to increase group sales
  • Lead, set up and attend events both internally (opening nights) and publicly (festivals, conferences, etc), on behalf of Lighthouse

Education, Experience and Skills/Knowledge Required

  • 2-3 years of marketing experience
  • Diploma or certificates in marketing or marketing related programs
  • Social media savvy with proven results
  • Experience with email platform Wordfly or similar
  • Experience with Loomly or other social media management programs (preferred)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Experience with CRM tools (preferred)
  • Self-starter, able to identify new opportunities and areas of improvement
  • Ability to multi-task and stay organized
  • Basic videography and photography an asset but not required (preferred)
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, very organized in a fast-paced environment
  • A passion for theatre and live performance
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
