Ripples of Impact

Kjipuktuk / Halifax

Theatre flourishes on the collaboration of ideas, connections and creativity to create ripples of impact that lead to waves of change. From the conversations between colleagues on an upcoming initiative, to the meeting of minds on artistic endeavours, theatre leaves us with possibility when we convene in space anchored in purpose.

Halifax / Kjipuktuk is known as a gathering place and travel way since time immemorial. PACTcon 2025 will convene theatre leaders from across Canada where we will engage with dynamic Nova Scotia member companies. Our time together will take us across water, embed us in nature, and reinvigorate our practice.

As we look to the future, how can we continue our impact and importance in our communities? How can our missions continue to enliven the role that theatre has in audiences' lives? How do we continue to bring intention to the institutions that bring transformation to light?

In the midst of ever-evolving change, our work in ensuring lasting and meaningful effects through purpose-driven creativity and sustainability, continues. The tides have shifted and the need for theatre is more palpable than ever.

At PACT's national gathering is a harbour that welcomes you to convene for the highlight of the year.

EFT is thrilled to host PACT members at Alderney Landing in beautiful Downtown Dartmouth/Punamu'kwati'jk. Alderney Landing is a vital community hub located on the Dartmouth Waterfront (quite literally in the Ferry Terminal) featuring a 300-seat multi-use theatre and impressive rotunda lobby featuring picturesque views of Kjipuktuk, the Great Harbour. Alderney Landing is also home to a Farmers' Market, public library and art gallery; and is surrounded by local shops and restaurants in a tight 3-block radius. - Eastern Front Theatre

Welcome to Two Planks and a Passion Theatre at the Ross Creek Centre for the Arts! Pjila’si! Welcome! Beinvenue!

Everyone here at the Ross Creek Centre can’t wait to welcome you all to the S?pekne'katik District of Mi'kma'ki for a full day of PACTcon 2025- Ripples of Impact.

The Ross Creek Centre is a place to gather, nurture and challenge ourselves. Set on a 178- acre farm overlooking the world’s highest tides, we have created a space where it is possible to be present with each other in a way that isn’t achievable elsewhere.

We look forward to sharing our profound connection to the land around us, what that land has to teach us, and providing a grounding moment, before we return to the challenges of our daily lives, to help reacquaint ourselves with why we make theatre and what we intend to do, together, in moving forward with renewed purpose.

Bring your walking shoes! - Ken and Chris

What is PACTcon?

PACT's annual gathering is an opportunity to share vital experiences and build genuine connections with your theatre colleagues from across Canada. The conversations started at the event carry through the rest of the year and often spark creative partnerships, mentorships, and joint projects.

The annual gathering is open to theatre leaders and other staff at PACT Member Companies and PACT Colleagues, as well as anyone from beyond the membership who would like to attend. Theatre artists, managers, administrators, and board members are all encouraged to join us. The more voices in the room, the richer our conversations will be.
