Advocacy Tools & Resources
Our Advocacy Committee directs the association’s ongoing advocacy activities, which aim to inform and engage stakeholder groups as well as the general public, not only in political advocacy but also in connection with matters including EDI, sustainability and sectoral engagement. We believe that theatre makes an essential contribution to Canadian life and well-being, and that the experience of theatre should be readily accessible to all Canadians. Our goal is to influence government and sector policy to advance these beliefs.
Between the committee and PACT staff, we lead and participate in many activities including ongoing advocacy on Parliament Hill with a number of ministries including Canadian Heritage, Finance and Employment, Workforce Development and Disability Inclusion as well as the Canada Council for Arts; annual pre-budget submissions, creating templates and supports to assist you in your own advocacy work including useful stats both from PACT, and external partners, supporting World Theatre Day & World Theatre Day for Children and Young People celebrations and so much more.
If you’re passionate about advocacy (or even just curious) and would be interested in learning more about or joining PACT’s Advocacy Committee, please contact Membership & Communications Manager Ainslee, ainsleej@pact.ca. The committee welcomes new members!
