ABOUT THE POSITION 

The PACT Program Manager is an important part of a small team working closely together in service of professional theatre across Canada. This role oversees the planning, delivery, and reporting of external-facing programs of PACT, with a specific focus on member learning, development, networking, and strategic initiatives, including acting as the producer for PACT’s annual conference. This is achieved in part through a robust portfolio of program offerings that responds to the needs of PACT’s diverse national membership. This role engages with internal and external stakeholders, including members and the board of directors. It is a full-time permanent position (37.5 hours per week), with the support of two part-time positions.

We are based in Toronto but are working remotely while maintaining our relationships as a team using online platforms and gathering in person occasionally. For this reason, applicants from across Canada are encouraged to apply. 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:  

  • In consultation with staff, board, and members, identify the learning, networking, and professional development priorities for PACT members, and play a curatorial role in designing an annual program of offerings. 

  • Play a producing role in executing these programs, including coordinating logistics, schedules, presenters, assessment, and budgets. 

  • Act as an event facilitator and host (or coordinate and support the delegation of these duties), to ensure a safer, respectful, productive event for participants that delivers on its goals.  

  • With the support of staff and board, act as lead producer for PACT’s annual national conference. 

  • Actively engage with PACT members, and support the development of new opportunities to promote Canadian theatre nationally and internationally. 

  • Contribute and collaborate with PACT staff around organizational success, including strategic priorities, communications, and promotion of programmatic offerings.   

  • Work as a PACT representative with external learning, networking, & project partnerships. 

  • Update and maintain relevant content on PACT’s website. 

  • Act as a staff liaison for Board committees. 

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS 

  • At least four (4) years’ experience in learning program curation / event coordination at a mid-senior level, ideally in a non-profit environment. Experience with a performing arts organization or at a professional theatre company is an asset.  

  • Strong communication skills, emotional intelligence, diplomacy, and tact. Dependable, organized, and reliable with an ability to work well with a variety of people. 

  • Training or experience with equity, diversity, accessibility, and anti-oppression practices is an asset. 

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Familiarity with website CMS platforms, and email systems is an asset. 

COMPENSATION:  This is a full-time position (37.5 hours per week) with an annual salary range of $58,000 – $65,000 depending on experience. Benefits include enrollment in our group health and dental plan, paid vacation time, and paid sick days.
