Job Description

Costume Coordinator


This position gives a unique opportunity to execute the day to day administration of the wardrobe department as well as the budgeting and planning of costumes for their assigned stage or screen productions. This position reports to the Costume Director and is a member of the Wardrobe Management Team.


Responsibilities:


•Organize aspects of designated productions including: meeting with the designers, costing productions,pulling stock costumes, attend production meetings, fittings and dress rehearsals, prepare dresser sheets,create and maintain CPP, track labour costs, meet production deadlines, as required
•Work with Stage Management and other production departments as required
•Coordinate with Cutters, Crafts, Head of Wigs and Production Stage Manager for daily fitting requests
•Manage machine and non-machine maintenance requests for the Wardrobe Department
•Maintain tech support materials for wardrobe department
•Support the Costume Director and Heads of Wardrobe with departmental and show related needsincluding; paperwork, fittings and attending performances
•Assist with daily office administrative tasks


Qualifications:


•Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a performing arts industry
•Post-secondary diploma, or equivalent work experience in a field related to wardrobe management,costume construction, fashion design or costuming in the film and television industry required
•Experience in theatrical costuming with an emphasis on wardrobe production an asset
•An understanding of costume construction, costume history and textiles required
•Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
•Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Excel
•Excellent team player


Preference will be given to candidates with experience in repertory theatre, experience as a Head of Wardrobe or experience in an equivalent field such as film and television. This Full Time Seasonal Contract is located in Stratford, Ontario and will begin February 6, 2023.
