Based in Stratford, Ontario, the Stratford Festival is one of the world’s foremost repertory theatre companies. Job Description
The Producing Assistant supports the Directors’ Office team, which is responsible for the administrative and logistical arrangements for the Festival’s activity, including annual repertory programming, artist training, new works development and other initiatives. The Producing Assistant provides administrative support to operations throughout the department.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, track and administer contracts and other documentation for a variety of simultaneous projects
- Initiate and track payments and expenses, and ensure fulfillment of other contractual commitments
- Arrange travel, accommodation and appointments, as requested, for team members and guests
- Perform general administrative duties, including data entry, proofing text, correspondence, filing, etc.
- Arrange, book and coordinate tickets for VIPs for opening nights and other special events.
- Act as a liaison between the producing team and all stakeholders, including audience members, donors, government contacts, community members and staff.
- Adhere to the Stratford Festival Health & Safety Commitment and Procedures, and ensure that safe work practices and policies are supported and enforced within reporting structure.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Post-secondary diploma program, typically a two year program, or equivalent, (i.e. Community college, Technical Institute or Trade School, etc.)
- 2 to 4 years of related experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience in performing arts environments is an asset
- Training and/or experience in an arts organization, particularly in unionized environments
