Job Description
We are in a search of a dynamic, organized, and visionary General Manager to spearhead the theatre’s next phase of growth and development. Working alongside the Artistic Director, the successful candidate will play a critical role in a financial planning, operations management, and organizational development. In addition, the General Manager will work with the Economic Development Manager to support diversification of revenue generation. The position reports to the Artistic Director and the Board of Directors.
Employment Type: Full-time, 35 hours per week
Salary: $50,000, negotiable based on experience
Location: St. John’s, NL, or close to that area, with some flexibility for remote work

Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Artistic Director to formulate season plans and budget
Oversee day-to-day administrative and operational functions
Supervise the marketing, fundraising, and public relations initiatives
Liaise with the Board of Directors and prepare monthly narrative and financial reports
Manage contracts, payroll, compliance, and reporting for various organizational activities
Support grant writing and other fundraising activities, such as upcoming Capital Campaign
Engage with community and industry partners for collaborative projects
Represent Perchance Theatre at regional and national conferences and committees
Selection Criteria:
Minimum of 5 years of managerial experiences in the theatre arts sector
A Bachelor’s degree in Theatre, Arts Management, Business Administration, or a related field is strongly preferred
Desirable Qualities:
Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills
Strong knowledge of non-profit accounting practices
Familiarity with grant funding agencies and not-for profit governance
Experience with financial management software like QuickBooks Online and familiarity with CADAC
Ability to solve operational and artistic challenges creatively
A love of theatre and the theatre-making process
