Capitol Theatre
The Capitol Theatre in Moncton, NB is searching for an individual for a full-time job opportunity.
The successful candidate will possess the following skills and expertise:
- Must have worked in a performing arts venue and have a basic knowledge of the technical needs of a performance
- Must have experience managing staff
- Must be proficient with PCs and Macs
- Must be proficient in information systems management
- Be a trouble shooter
- Must have experience with building maintenance, HVAC systems and project management
- Excellent interpersonal skills in communicating with artists, their teams, our staff and the general public
- Must be able to manage tight deadlines
- Have a High school degree
- A college or university degree is preferred
Roles and responsibilities of the Technical Director of the Capitol Theatre:
Technical/Advancing Shows
- Contact clients to ensure their technical needs are met in advance, for both equipment and staff
- Contact the technical staff and do the scheduling
- Keep an up-to-date list of technicians available
- Manage the technical staff, ensuring that all are aware of house policies and procedures, including training
- Schedule maintenance to ensure the theatre’s technical equipment is in good repair
- Maintain an equipment replacement schedule to keep the equipment of the Capitol up-to-date
Maintenance
- Manage the heating and cooling system (Memco)
- Oversee the maintenance contract for air handling unit and boiler
- Oversee the maintenance contract for the elevators
- Hire individuals and contractors to maintain and repair the Capitol Theatre and the 33 Church building (Old City Club)
- Ensure building safety for employees, clients and visitors
- Participate in the Safety and Wellness committee meetings
Information System
- Responsible for the good working order of the organization’s information and phone systems, including updates
- Manage the Google accounts of all members of the organization
- Manage the wireless and wired internet in the buildings
- Manage the security systems for the buildings
- Manage the digital screen system in the lobby
- Troubleshoot Audience View ticketing system
- Manage the “in and out” and the card access systems
- Have a replacement schedule for the computers of the employees
Projects
- Participate in the House committee meetings
- Act as a project manager for various projects at the Capitol Theatre
- Keep a close relationship with Architects and Engineers to evaluate future projects
Work schedule, salary and benefits: to be negotiated based on experience. Annual salary range : $40,000 to $50,000.
