Job Description
Full-time Position: Housing Manager
Salary Range: $50,000 – $61,600 annually
The Shaw Festival is seeking to fill a full time Housing Manager position. Reporting to the Planning Director and Producer and as a member of the Creative Management team, the Housing Manager will oversee the practical needs of the housing and accommodations for our Ensemble of Artists, directors, choreographers, actors, stage managers, musicians, designers, playwrights, coaches, interns, and other company members.
Responsibilities include:
· Negotiating, contracting, leasing, and subletting of approximately 45 residential properties in Niagara-on-the-Lake for use as seasonal contract Artist Housing.
· Overseeing general and annual maintenance for all rental properties.
· Overseeing annual department budget creation, tracking, reporting, contracting, billing, payments and processing of administrative paperwork.
· Liaising closely with the Housing and Ensemble Liaison on the requirements of Artists housing requirements, placements, communications, and travel timing.
· Liaising closely with the Senior Manager Facilities and Audience Services and Maintenance department regarding residential property owned by the Shaw Festival.
· Overseeing and managing the housing department staff (2 persons).
· Overseeing the Warehouse and Storage of additional furniture stocks and the tracking and locating of housing furniture and supplies.
· Liaising with outside trades, and service providers for property maintenance.
· Attend departmental and company meetings as required.
· On-Call for emergencies as required.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience working in a property management position. Strong organizational skills; maintenance trouble-shooting knowledge, ability to multi-task; excellent interpersonal and written communication skills with an approach to fostering strong individual relationships. The willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends is required, along with a valid driver’s license.
