The Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre exists to celebrate the widest spectrum of theatre art. Are you a detail-oriented accounting professional with a passion for financial reporting, planning and analysis? In this newly created role, the Finance Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting operations by ensuring compliance with accounting standards, regulations and policies. Assist with month end reporting and audit preparation. Support the Director of Finance with process improvements, financial systems implementations and maintenance. This role also provides coverage for the Payroll Administrator as necessary.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
· Oversee the accounts payable function including daily invoice entry, accurate coding, batch posting and prepare EFT payment batches for approval.
· Respond to vendor queries and follow up on any invoice issues.
· Processing of employee expense claims and corporate credit card transactions.
· Daily review of bank transactions and related journal entries.
· Monthly reconciliation of bank and credit card accounts.
· Daily box office sales journal entries and entries for other revenues including donations, grants and other earned revenues.
· Post weekly payroll entries.
· Prepare regulatory filings and remittances including GST, PST, non-resident withholding tax, T3010 annual information return.
· Maintain month end schedules and support external audit file preparation.
· Support the Director of Finance to ensure compliance, strong internal controls and process efficiency.
· Support the Director of Finance implementing new financial systems and ongoing maintenance of systems.
· Complete administrative tasks and other duties, as assigned.
· Other ad-hoc projects as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
· 3+ years’ experience in a similar role.
· Enrolled in CPA program, working towards designation.
· High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills.
· Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and build strong internal relationships.
· An established reputation for contributing to a positive work environment with professionalism and a ‘can-do’ attitude.
· Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as a collaborative team member and establish and maintain positive working relationship, both internally and externally.
· Proficient in Excel.
· Previous software implementation experience is a strong asset.
· Experience with and knowledge of registered charities is an asset.
· Experience with Sage 300 and Sage APA (Beanworks by Quadient) would be an asset.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
Royal MTC offers a collaborative and fast-paced working environment, a salary of $55,000 - $60,000 depending on qualifications and experience, a comprehensive benefits package and a pension matching program
