St. Clair College is seeking an experienced and motivated professional who shares our commitment to quality and student success.
The Production Manager will be responsible for the organizational and financial operation of all production related activities for the Music Theatre Performance Program as well as facilitating the set up and equipping of classroom, studio/lab, and theatrical venues both internal and external as required for curriculum delivery. The incumbent will also have prime responsibility for purchase, maintenance, storage, and operation of theatrical equipment for all venues utilized by the performing arts programs.
Summary of Duties:
Responsibilities will include research of functionality and pricing of state-of-the-art entertainment equipment, managing schedule changes and construction and set-up lighting plots, sound plots, and scenic elements, including hiring/supervision of required production personnel, both unionized and non-unionized. The incumbent will be responsible for oversite of technical production of live theatre in a variety of venues, production management, production scheduling, production budgeting, design execution in the area of sets, lights and sound.
The ideal candidate must have a three (3) year Post Secondary Diploma or Degree and would have five (5) years’ practical experience or equivalent coupled with knowledge of the current entertainment industry trends in lighting, sound and multi-media show controls. Up-to-date computer skills in all show related software, as well as knowledge of current entertainment industry trends in show control systems is required. The successful candidate will possess a thorough working knowledge of all applicable provincial, federal and industry health and safety regulations as well as demonstrated national industry relationships.
Candidates selected for an interview will be required to provide a 10-minute presentation. Details will be provided when interviews are scheduled.
