Theatre is how we tell stories about ourselves and our world, past, present and future. There are many funding bodies that financially support the work that not-for-profit theatre organizations do, with direct funding and arms-length government support. This funding ensures that the work continues to be accessible and relevant because it contributes to the development and creation of new work, helps keep ticket prices affordable and allows theatres to tour their shows nationally and internationally.
As a service to arts organizations PACT has compiled an overview of the different types of funding available to arts companies on the national, and regional level, as well as, some foundations. These are not meant to be comprehensive lists but a reference and starting point for your research.
