WCT is seeking an ACCOUNTING ASSOCIATE to play a vital role on WCT’s finance team, which provides support and structure to enable our organization to succeed. This role supports all areas of our operations.


The Role

The Accounting Associate is responsible for the accurate and timely entry of financial data for WCT, the Kamloops Live! Box Office and Sagebrush Theatre. Under the leadership of the Director of Finance, duties will be assigned to meet the organization’s goals. Areas of focus may include payables, receivables, banking, payroll and/or reporting.  The successful candidate is self-directed and thrives within a busy environment with evolving responsibilities and duties.



·         A mix of experience and education will be considered: an accounting certificate (or equivalent), with hands-on experience in the field. While we prefer experience in the non-profit sector, all prior accounting experience will be considered.

·         Working knowledge accounting principles, GAAP, and the use of both manual and computerized accounting systems (Adagio preferred)

·         Proficient with the Microsoft suite of products, especially Excel


Also an asset would be:

·         Experience with a non-profit, charitable, arts or community organization

·         A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle on a daily basis


The Details

This is an ongoing, full-time position, ideally Monday-Friday, with some flexibility in work hours that will include evenings and weekends. WCT is pleased to offer a generous benefits package, ticket benefits and more.  Employment is subject to WCT’s staff employment policies. The successful candidate must be able to legally work in Canada and provide a satisfactory criminal records check prior to commencing work.  The salary range is negotiable, within the range of $36-41,000, commensurate to experience & training.  Start date is flexible, though ideally would be January 6, 2020.
