ABOUT THE GRAND THEATRE
A leading cultural hub, the Grand is proudly located in the heart of downtown London, Ontario. We are a place for all to gather, discuss, challenge, debate, celebrate, and be inspired and entertained by exceptional theatre experiences. A not-for-profit regional theatre, the Grand produces and presents professional theatre on two stages: the Spriet Stage (~800 seats) and the Auburn Stage (~150 seats).
A typical season at the Grand runs from September to May including an annual fall High School Project production, which has a 23-year history as an integral part of our programming.

And we bring London to the world stage with a commitment to developing, producing, and premiering new and original stories through COMPASS, our new play development program. The Grand is currently undergoing a $9 million renovation of its public and artists’ spaces and is positioned to re-open post-pandemic stronger than ever with a completely renovated and modernized theatre.

The Grand Theatre currently has an exciting opportunity in our Development Department for a dynamic, go-getting fundraising and development professional. The Manager, Individual and Planned Giving will have primary responsibility for leading the Grand’s annual giving efforts. You will assist in setting strategy and executing fundraising plans for sustaining and growing the number of annual donors. You will also be responsible for developing, executing and stewarding our Planned Giving program. You will support the major giving efforts of the Director Development, Artistic Director and Executive Director and members of the Board of Directors.
- Develop and implement strategies for solicitation that will grow annual revenue from individuals: manage all appeal campaigns, manage and monitor online giving initiatives, work collaboratively with other program areas to advance fundraising goals; meet with donors as determined by the Director of Development;
- Ensure accurate database management, gift processing and recognition, development and fulfillment of donor benefits, donor correspondence, house program listings and mailings;
- Coordinate donor cultivation and stewardship events to ensure an exceptional donor experience.
- Work with the Director of Development in supporting fundraising goals of the department including but not limited to the execution of fundraising events, including annual Gala;
- Work with the Director of Development to provide support to the Board of Directors and the Fund Raising Committee on fundraising initiatives;
- Work with communications team to develop strategies for development presence in all communications and marketing, and oversee the development presence on the website;
- Prepare regular reports on all campaign activities;
- Monitor revenue and expenses related to individual giving and support the Director of Development in all areas of development reporting.
- Assume other tasks and responsibilities as needed.
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of five years of fundraising experience; or an equivalent combination of education/experience including Planned Giving
- Demonstrated knowledge Microsoft Office and familiarity with Tessitura fundraising database or another equivalent
- Experience in working in WordFly e-communication software or another equivalent
- Previous experience with a youth and/or theatre organization and knowledge of the arts philanthropic community preferred

- You are creative, have an outgoing personality and the ability to initiate and enjoy direct communication with donors and potential donors.
- You have a clear understanding of the interplay between patron service and fund raising results.
- You are highly motivated and energetic; you show initiative and have the ability to work independently.
- You use data to drive decisions and strategy.
- You understand the value of donor stewardship and put this into practice in your day to day work.
- You have outstanding interpersonal skills, project coordination experience, and you work well with all levels of staff, as well as with external clients and vendors.
- You have excellent verbal communication skills and are confident when presenting or speaking to large or small groups.
- You are also proficient in written communication skills and can demonstrate your experience in writing effective direct mail appeals, e-appeals, etc.
- You have experience with budgeting, planning and project administration.
- You can handle diverse and simultaneous tasks; you meet deadlines and attend to follow-through and are always accountable for your work.
- You have experience in planning special events and working with volunteer committees.
- You are able to work on a flexible schedule as occasional evenings and weekend work is part of the job responsibilities.
