The Manager Artist Training (AT) oversees the successful long-term planning and operations of all Music Education Artist Training Programs including the Young Artists Program (YAP), the Institute for Orchestral Studies (IOS), the Bursary Competition, telementoring programs and other showcasing opportunities. The Manager AT is influential and participates in decision-making on planning and artistic matters with Music colleagues, lead faculty and NACO committee members. The incumbent is responsible for budgeting programs and supervising a team of six employees (permanent and term). This position supports the Director of Music Education by managing regular music education operational team meetings. The incumbent also assists in the preparation and execution of education events for NAC Orchestra tours and oversees the scheduling and general planning of education programming in the new public animation spaces. The Manager AT establishes strategic partnerships and recruitment opportunities with nationally and internationally recognized music schools and conservatoires to broaden the international awareness of the NAC and its educational programming.
The Young Artists Program, the Institute for Orchestral Studies and the NAC Bursary Competition have gained an international reputation for excellence supporting the musical development of 100 highly-talented young artists annually from Canada and the globe. These artist training programs are led by exceptional faculties from Canada and abroad and from within our own NAC Orchestra and draw significant financial support from donors regionally and around the world.
