As a Marketing & Communications Officer, become the focus of all marketing and communication functions for Lighthouse Festival which operates three theatres, two professional and one amateur. You will create and execute all marketing and communications strategies and initiatives, raise the profile of the theatres, and meet budgeted revenue targets. This permanent full-time position is based out of Port Dover or Port Colborne Ontario, with travel between both locations expected.

Major Responsibilities:

Create a comprehensive communications and marketing plan
Plan and oversee the creation of all printed material, including season brochures, programs, advertising materials, posters, and other promotional materials
Plan and implement all electronic materials, including website content management, e-mail marketing, web ads and other materials
Lead the management and execution of cross platform social media strategy and planning
Create and edit basic graphics for website and social media
Develop and implement overall strategies and plans for ticket revenue targets, media buys and advertising
Create compelling stories across all communication platforms to keep audiences informed and engaged
Work closely with the Artistic Director to ensure all messaging and communication of the art is well represented and matches the theatres brand voice
Analyze and pull lists from CRM database to segment audiences
Leverage database findings to create opportunities for audience growth and ticket sales
Create awareness for the Lighthouse brand, drive box office sales and engage audiences
In collaboration with the Executive Director, create a marketing and advertising budget
Plan certain events as required
Attend all theatre events

Skills and Experience:

2 to 3 years of marketing and communications experience
Diploma or Degree in marketing, communications, public relations or equivalent
Expert in the use of Microsoft Office products
Experience with e-mail marketing tools (WordFly) an asset
Experience building and managing marketing budgets
Experience with CRM tools, Tessitura or other ticketing software programs an asset
Basic graphic design experience an asset
Basic photography and video editing experience an asset
Knowledge of Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) as asset
Experience with graphic design programs an asset
Strong analytical skills
Self-starter, able to identify new opportunities and areas of improvement
Effectively manage multiple projects on your own
Work collaboratively with team members
Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
Detail-oriented, very organized in a fast-paced environment
A passion for theatre and live performance
Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
