Citadel Theatre mourns the loss of founder Sandy MacTaggart
Edmonton philanthropist and long-time Citadel patron and benefactor Sandy Mactaggart has passed away in his native Scotland. He was 89 years of age. Mactaggart was a founding member of the Citadel Theatre in 1965 with Joe Shoctor, Ralph B. MacMillan and James L. Martin.
Capitol Theatre receives $300,000 bequest
Capitol Theatre (Port Hope ON), home of Port Hope Festival Theatre, has received a $300,000 bequest from the estate of Donald Wilson Douglas.
What’s Happening in the Wider Community
- Nominations are open for the Atlantic Presenters Association’s Achievement Award. The deadline for nominations is Friday, August 5.
- Submissions are open for Infinitheatre’s Write on Q playwriting competition. The deadline for submissions is September 5.
- Applications are currently open for the Government of Ontario’s Québec-Ontario Cultural Exchange Program, designed to strengthen the cultural dialogue and foster greater cultural collaboration between the two provinces. The deadline to apply is September 14.
