It’s Getting Hot In Here: Creative Practice and the Climate Emergency

November 29 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm EST

It’s Getting Hot In Here: Creative Practice and the Climate Emergency

Jointly presented by the Playwrights Guild of Canada, the Banff Centre Playwrights Lab, and PACT

Monday, November 29, from 5pm to 6:30pm ET

Featuring Chantal Bilodeau, Sunny Drake, David Geary, Natasha MacLellan, and Kevin Matthew Wong, with facilitator Zachary Moull

The Glasgow Climate Pact, negotiated just this month at the United Nations Climate Change Conference, calls the coming years a “critical decade” for global action. It is abundantly clear how deeply the climate emergency will disrupt our communities – fires, floods, and extreme weather events are making its destructive power more visible by the day.

What is our responsibility as theatre makers at this crucial moment? Beyond reducing our carbon footprints, how can we tell stories that inspire collective action and help shape a sustainable society? In this collaboration between the Playwrights Guild of Canada, the Banff Centre Playwrights Lab, and PACT, playwrights and artistic leaders come together to discuss how our creative practices can help address the climate emergency.

This event is free and open to all. Live captioning and ASL interpretation will be available.
