HR Deep Dive – Recruitment: Situational and Behaviour-Based Interviewing

Tuesday, February 4, from 1pm to 2pm ET (please adjust for your time zone!)

Led by Tabitha Keast, PACT’s HR Specialist

A successful recruitment drive depends on many things: An up-to-date strategic plan and job descriptions; a fair process which is consistently applied; documents and personnel who give more than a passing nod to ESA and Human Rights legislation.

What makes recruitment fun are the conversations. And what makes these conversations useful is structure. Situational and behaviour-based interviewing styles provide this structure.

Situational interview questions require the candidate to think on their feet by presenting them with a hypothetical situation. Behavioral interview questions ask the candidate to recall a past experience and describe how they handled it. Hypothetical versus actual.

This session will, yes, review the key areas of prepping for recruitment but we’ll spend the bulk of our time talking about the particulars of situational and behaviour-based interviewing, including how the questions are tied to your job competencies, and how to rate your candidate’s answers.

This session is free for PACT Members and Colleagues. Non-members can register at an affordable cost.
