We are looking for Patron Services Associates
Role: Part-Time/Casual position, paid hourly

Pay: $15.5/hour

Reports to: Patron Services Manager


-Reporting directly to the Patron Services Manager (Ceridwen Kingstone) this position works as Box Office staff, as a FOH Manager and as a bartender on rotating shifts.
-Ensuring that the needs and requests of the Theatre Passe Muraille subscribers, donors and single ticket buyers are handled in a courteous, speedy and appropriate manner in-person and via telephone.
-Running the box office during the week and during performances (selling tickets, answering all box office related questions, etc.).
-Reconciling cash at the end of your shift.
-Liaison with Stage Managers to ensure a smooth transition while opening the house for a show and handing the house over to the SM.
-Responsible for the safety and comfort of patrons, handling all patron concerns and challenges, being proactive to create the best possible patron experience.
-Manage our Volunteer Ushers and brief them at the start of their shift, make sure they are fully supported throughout.
-Trouble-shoot any challenges that may arise during an event or performance and document these on the daily Front of House Report.
-Offer administrative support to the Patron Service Manager during slow hours at the box office.
-Other duties as assigned

Additional/Updated COVID-19 Responsibilities:

-Maintain cleanliness and sanitization of lobby, box office, all theatrical spaces and Green Room. Eg. emptying lobby and washroom garbages, cleaning the box office, sanitizing doors and railings, sanitizing workspace after use, use disinfectant fogger, etc… (Full COVID-19 cleaning protocols will be provided in training)
-Checking patrons’ vaccine receipts, ID’s or exemption forms.
-Potentially denying access to patrons who do not follow the COVID-19 Safety Guidelines mandated by the Government of Ontario.
-Act as a COVID Compliance Assistant on shifts to maintain the safety of patrons inside the theatre. (Eg. Ensuring patrons wear proper facial coverings, maintain social distancing when necessary and comply with the COVID-19 Safety Guidelines mandated by the Government of Ontario. (De Escalation training will be provided to support staff with these duties)


-Capable of working independently
-Superior customer service skills
-Experience as either Box Office Attendant or House Manager
-Must be available evenings and weekends
-Knowledge of ticketing softwares is an asset
-Excellent written and oral communication skills
-Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel
-Must be comfortable working in person at our theatre and providing hands on assistance to our patrons
-Must be comfortable completing the cleaning and sanitizing tasks listed in the job description.

Additional Assets:

-First Aid Certification and Smart Serve Certificate (Training will be provided for those without)
-Any additional fluency/competency in a language other than English
-Knowledge of the Toronto theatre community
-Knowledge and experience working with various accessible performances, features and devices (Audio Described Performances, American Sign Language Interpreted Performances, Relaxed Performances, Service Animals, Assistive Mobility Devices, Assistive Hearing Devices, Support Workers, and others)
